The Importance of Gratitude
Gratitude is the fastest, cheapest, easiest, and healthiest mood changer on the planet. Gratitude will change your mood within minutes. I would say seconds, but I am not trying to oversell gratitude here, but, believe me, it works.
It is the simplest things ever. When I first started using gratitude as my first choice to “feel better now,” I had two things, my niece and the sky (granted I live in San Francisco, we have beautiful sky, when it is not foggy.) What I am trying to say is that you can start with something as simple as that, not the beautiful niece, but the sky, and you can build up from there.
There are so many ways to practice the art of gratitude. Find a practice that works for you and one you can incorporate effortlessly into your everyday life.
Gratitude is the simple act of counting your blessings. Sometimes things seem too hard to find what the blessings are but even if you start small, the act of gratitude multiplies itself. You can start with one thing, then you have two, then you have four. Before you know it, you are beaming around town radiating gratitude.
Importance of Gratitude
Think about this for a second, if you lived in a world where you felt grateful for everything in your life what kind of world would that be. I will give you my answer: The world where I was happy.
Do you remember the last time you felt happy? I promise you, if you start to list the things in your life, including that life itself, that you are grateful for, your mood will change. You can also try hard to list the things you are thankful for, and still choose to be angry or sad, every which way, you are correct.
The point of everything is to get you to a place where you feel good, even when there are some not so great things happening in your life. Your number one goal is to know that you can change the way you look at things, and once you do that, the things you look at will change. That is wisdom from the great Dr. Wayne Dyer.
Gratitude is a great self-help tool for improving your mood, changing your emotions and feeling better now. I cannot tout the importance of gratitude enough, you just have to try it.
- Try a 21-Day Personal Gratitude Project. Immerse yourself in gratitude and write a list of things you are grateful for every day for 21 days.
- At the end of the 21 days, find ten things that showed up the most over the 21 days, and create a master gratitude list.
- Add the master list to you Levnow binder, stick it up on the wall or somewhere you get to see it every day.
- Review the Master Gratitude List twice a day, morning and night.
Gratitude is an excellent tool to help you shift your vibration in the right direction.
