Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything.

Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.

The Importance of Gratitude

Gratitude is the fastest, cheapest, easiest, and healthiest mood changer on the planet. Gratitude will change your mood within minutes. I would say seconds, but I am not trying to oversell gratitude here, but, believe me, it works.

It is the simplest things ever. When I first started using gratitude as my first choice to “feel better now,” I had two things, my niece and the sky (granted I live in San Francisco, we have beautiful sky, when it is not foggy.) What I am trying to say is that you can start with something as simple as that, not the beautiful niece, but the sky, and you can build up from there.

There are so many ways to practice the art of gratitude. Find a practice that works for you and one you can incorporate effortlessly into your everyday life.

Gratitude is the simple act of counting your blessings. Sometimes things seem too hard to find what the blessings are but even if you start small, the act of gratitude multiplies itself. You can start with one thing, then you have two, then you have four. Before you know it, you are beaming around town radiating gratitude.

The magic you create with an Attitude of Gratitude will amaze you every moment you notice the changes in your day because you took two minutes to find five things to be grateful for today. With our hectic lifestyles, you have to learn to take control of how you are feeling in each moment. That is what living eternal vigilance is all about.

Choose to adopt an attitude of gratitude, and take control of your emotions by stopping when you feel yourself tighten with stress, and remember the things you are grateful for today.

Conditions: Stress, worry, anger, fear, and all other horrible feelings you could have
Self-Help Tool: Gratitude
Prescription: First thing in the morning before getting out of bed and any other time of the day you feel yourself deep into the negative. Last thing you do at night as you fall asleep. Start a gratitude journal.

What is an attitude of gratitude?

We all have things that we are grateful for in our lives. An attitude of gratitude means living in a state where you focus on what you are thankful for at this moment, and in each moment you are conscious of your thought space (i.e., what you are thinking). With an attitude of gratitude, you are developing a mindset for success.

Living with an attitude of gratitude you are choosing to focus on what you grateful for in order to keep your emotional frequency on the positive side of the scale, shift your emotions from positive to negative or most importantly, keep yourself on the frequency you need to manifest the things you want.

How do you develop a positive attitude? The key is to learn to be nicer to yourself. Here are some tips to help you gradually change and develop a positive attitude.

Self-Help Tools: To develop a positive attitude, we are going to use the following tools: gratitude, positive thinking, and affirmations.

What are you saying to yourself?

Take a couple of days (no more than two or else you will need quick tips for procrastination) to pay attention to what you are thinking about when it comes to yourself, your finances, your career or job, your friends, family, coworkers and strangers you meet. Write down exactly what you think of. Try not to focus on the obvious, yes, you love some of these people, but what do you say about them in your head.

Take a Personal Accounting

What type of people, situations, and surroundings do you want in your life? Take a look around, if you are not living the life you envisioned for yourself, then it is time to attract what you want in your life. Take the list you have just created and change your negative, self-defeating thoughts to positive, self-affirming and empowering thoughts.
