Set Intentions and Take Control of Your Life

Abi Egbeyemi

Declare your intentions, see the outcome of any decision you make even before you act, learn to think five steps ahead.

Why is this important?

  • It helps you take control of your day.  It gives you an outline of the actions you have to take to accomplish your goals for the day.

  • You become proactive, like a chess player you are able to think a few steps ahead.

  • It gives your subconscious mind results to manifest.

  • It will reduce the amount of stress you will encounter in your day.

  • It gives you a sense of accomplishment at the end of your day.

Whenever you make plans you should start with the results you want to get.  You usually have an idea of what you want to get done in the day, but do you ever stop to think of the outcome?  Do you ever think of how you want to impress so and so at that meeting that you are offered a raise or get that promotion you want.  Or do you think meeting with that company president will result in a multimillion dollar contract for your company.  Or that date will turn out to be the love of your life and the start of the life you dreamed of.

You can use the outcome method for everything you have to do, even everyday chores, just thing of how you want things to go and how you want things to be when you are done.  The other day I had to go grocery shopping, something I don’t enjoy, I had to go to two grocery stores on about three miles apart, get back home, find parking, and get to work.  So I declared:  I will go to both groceries stores, get everything I need, get done in 45 minutes come home and park in my favorite spot and get to work. Not only did this happen exactly as I declared, I had five minutes to spare. This is just one small example of how thinking of the outcome first can affect something as mundane as grocery shopping and parking.

How can you do it?

Start your day with the outcome in mind.  Visualization:  Before you start your day think about what you need to accomplish.  How you want to get it done.  What resources you need.  How you want to feel at the end of the day.  Before you start a project think of the outcome.  What you want the project to look like when you are done?  Who needs to see it?  What do you want them to say or do when they see it?  What impact do you want it have on your life?

Setting intentions and visualizing the outcome allows you to take control of your life: you see how your day is going to turn out.  You do this everyday and you will visualize your entire life one day at a time.  This is how you manifest your life, how’s that for taking control.
